Job Description

Are you a passionate Social Worker looking to make a real difference in the lives of people facing complex challenges? This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and provide meaningful, hands-on support to job seekers with multiple barriers to employment.

Working across Perth Metro and with the chance to support participants in Kalgoorlie, you’ll play a vital role in empowering individuals through tailored assessments, counselling, and interventions—helping them to overcome obstacles, build confidence, and achieve sustainable education and employment outcomes.

Facilitate mental health and life skills workshops to support Workforce Australia participants in building resilience, confidence, and practical strategies for sustainable employment.

We are seeking a full-time fully qualified Social Worker, who will provide meaningful support to job seekers presenting multiple barriers to employment.

Key duties of the role will include:

  • Conduct assessments of participants who present with multiple and complex non-vocational and vocational barriers to employment;
  • Provide supportive counselling and evidence-based mental health intervention as required;
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders to assist participants into education or sustainable employment outcomes;
  • Delivery of mental health and life skills workshops to Workforce Australia participants;
  • Liaise with external support agencies and professionals to complete assessments or make appropriate referrals.

Desired Skills and Experience

Your proven ability to achieve performance expectations will be complemented by your:

  • Demonstrated ability to assess barriers facing job seekers and to develop appropriate intervention strategies that lead to sustainable employment or education;
  • Proven ability to produce good case notes;
  • Ability to assist in generating positive outcomes for job seekers;
  • Knowledge of available supports towards providing referrals;
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Cultural competency skills

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work with eligibility for membership with Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW);
  • Experience as a Social Worker, dealing with at risk and vulnerable client groups;
  • Well versed and trained in a variety of therapeutic techniques
  • Experience in Employment Services
  • Ability to provide a Working with Children's Check and national Police Clearance;
  • Valid WA Drivers Licence

Desirable:

  • Experience in the Employment Services Industry, or similar;
  • Demonstrated Case Management and Advocacy skills;
  • Strong IT and Administration skills
