The Compliance Coordinator is a contributor role within the Employment, Contracts and Quality division of Training Alliance Group. The role has organisation wide accountability for ensuring TAG meets its contractual obligations across all government-funded employment programs, covering both Department of Employment and Workplace Relations (DEWR) and Department of Social Services (DSS) funding deeds and program guidelines.
The Compliance Coordinator maintains the rigour of TAG’s internal quality management system through structured audit activity, participates in the non-conformance and corrective action framework, and monitors legislative and regulatory changes across all relevant program streams. The role also plays an active part in staff capability development, building team understanding of contractual obligations and supporting the organisation to achieve and maintain strong performance outcomes across all contracts.
The Compliance Coordinator operates with a level of autonomy and acts as an operational contact for TAG’s compliance related matters across DEWR and DSS contracts, working closely with the Contract Manager, program delivery teams, external auditors and government contract managers.

Compliance and Contract Management
- Ensure compliance with all DEWR and DSS funding deed obligations across TAG’s full government contract portfolio, maintaining accurate registers, evidence libraries and audit trails.
- Monitor contractual requirements across all active programs and proactively identify, document and escalate compliance or contractual risks to the Contract Manager.
- Act as the primary operational contact for DEWR and DSS compliance and contract-related enquiries across the organisation.
- Liaise with internal program teams, external auditors and government contract managers to support and coordinate compliance activities.
- Monitor changes to DEWR and DSS guidelines and relevant legislation; brief the Contract Manager on regulatory changes and support implementation of required operational adjustments across all affected programs.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of all statutory and contractual reporting and acquittals across DEWR and DSS contract streams.
- Maintain and manage incident and non-conformance registers in line with internal and contractual requirements; ensure all NCRs are logged within 24 hours of identification.
- Lead root cause analysis processes and coordinate corrective and preventative actions with delivery teams through to verified closure.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across compliance systems, processes and practices and drive implementation in collaboration with program teams.
Quality Management & Audit
- Plan, coordinate and conduct scheduled and ad hoc internal quality audits against relevant quality frameworks across all government-funded programs.
- Document audit findings clearly and support delivery teams to implement corrective actions within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain an effective quality management system aligned to legislative, regulatory and contractual requirements across DEWR and DSS programs.
- Review and update policies, procedures and operational guides to ensure they remain current, practical and fit for purpose across all contract streams.
- Produce written compliance and performance reports for the Contract Manager and senior leadership as required.
- Ensure service delivery is consistent with the National Disability Services Standards where applicable.
Capability Development and Training
- Develop and maintain accurate, compliance-aligned training materials and operational guides that reflect current DEWR and DSS program requirements.
- Deliver training and facilitate small group learning sessions to build team understanding of contractual obligations, program requirements and compliance expectations.
- Undertake ongoing desktop monitoring across all team members and programs, assessing performance against internal policies, procedures and relevant program DEEDs.
- Mentor Employment Services team members to ensure tasks are completed in line with the requirements of relevant DEWR and DSS program DEEDs.
- Contribute to the development of compliance training materials and support staff capability building across the organisation.
- Provide operational coverage across sites as required by management.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across systems, processes and practices.

- DEWR & DSS Compliance: Zero critical non-compliances at external audit across all contracts; all corrective actions closed within agreed timeframes.
- Internal Audit Delivery: Full audit schedule delivered on time across all programs; 100% of findings documented and assigned.
- Reporting Accuracy & Timeliness: All statutory and contractual reports submitted on time with zero material errors across DEWR and DSS streams.
- Non-Conformance Management: All NCRs logged within 24 hours; corrective actions tracked and closed within agreed timeframes.
- Staff Capability Development: All new team members complete their onboarding training plan by end of probation; weekly performance updates provided without exception.
- Stakeholder Satisfaction: Positive feedback from Contract Manager, government contract managers and program teams via periodic review.
Selection Criteria:
Competencies
- Demonstrated experience in compliance, quality assurance or contract management within the employment services, community services or government-funded sector.
- Sound working knowledge of DEWR and DSS funding deed frameworks and program guidelines – including Workforce Australia, Transition to Work, IEA and associated compliance obligations.
- Proven ability to plan and conduct structured audits across multiple programs, analyse evidence, identify gaps and produce clear, actionable reports.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver training and facilitate learning sessions for individuals and small groups across diverse backgrounds.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present compliance and performance information to audiences ranging from frontline staff to senior leaders and government stakeholders.
- Proven ability to develop, manage and monitor individual capability development plans and provide structured performance feedback.
- A proven track record of achieving KPIs and managing competing priorities across multiple contracts or programs simultaneously.
- High-level attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping, evidence management, reporting and data management.
- Ability to work autonomously, make sound judgements and escalate risks appropriately without close supervision.
- Sound information technology and administration skills, including experience with electronic document management systems.
